Maintenance Repair Worker II

This position involves skilled technical work at the Journeyman level, with a strong emphasis on carpentry in the maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of County-owned buildings. Primary responsibilities include performing advanced carpentry tasks such as constructing, repairing, and upgrading built-in furniture, courtroom fixtures, judge’s desks, counters, and other custom woodwork. The role also supports general building maintenance by assisting with grounds upkeep;

operating and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems; performing minor plumbing repairs and fixture installations; and completing interior and exterior painting as needed. Work frequently involves remodels, upgrades, and precision carpentry projects that enhance the functionality and appearance of County facilities.

Graduation from high school or equivalent with vocational/technical school level coursework or training in heating, air conditioning and ventilation repair or a related discipline including carpentry, plumbing, masonry or electrical repair plus two years of experience at the apprentice level in the same maintenance area; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities, and skills.

Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured by the County’s insurance carrier.

Hours:

Full time; M - F; 8:00 a.m.

- 4:30 p.m. subject to change during emergencies.
