Compensation: $90,000 - $115,000 base salary

Target Total Compensation: $110,000 - $150,000 depending on experience and department results

Position Summary

The HVAC Service Manager is responsible for leading and growing Action's HVAC service department. This role is responsible for technician performance, customer experience, department profitability, maintenance agreement growth, replacement opportunities, dispatch coordination, and daily service execution. This is a hands‑on leadership position for someone who understands HVAC service, can coach technicians, manage daily workload, improve accountability, and help build a profitable, professional service department.

The right person will not just manage calls. They will develop people, improve systems, strengthen customer trust, and help the department continue improving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and hold HVAC service technicians accountable.
  • Oversee daily HVAC service operations, including no‑heat, no‑cool, maintenance, repair, and light commercial service calls.
  • Work closely with dispatch and customer service to improve scheduling, response time, communication, and customer experience.
  • Monitor technician productivity, callback rates, average ticket, billable efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support maintenance agreement growth, renewals, and customer retention.
  • Identify replacement opportunities and coordinate with the replacement sales team.
  • Review service tickets, job notes, pricing, photos, parts usage, and customer communication for quality and accuracy.
  • Ensure proper use of company pricing standards, diagnostic fees, flat‑rate repairs, and T&M; billing where applicable.
  • Manage department performance against revenue, gross margin, and net margin goals.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention of HVAC service technicians.
  • Promote a culture of urgency, ownership, teamwork, safety, and customer‑first service.
