Service Technician – Service and Repair
Location:
5945 Cornhusker Highway, Suite D, Lincoln, Nebraska
• Full‑Time/Regular
- Diagnose and repair complex manual and powered wheelchairs and other medical equipment both in the shop and in the field.
- Maintain rental and stock equipment, keeping it clean, organized, and operational for customer use.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop/warehouse.
- Maintain delivery vehicles to ensure safe operating condition, cleanliness, and organization.
- Manage parts inventory: receive, store, and ship parts for equipment with accurate tracking.
- Complete accurate documentation promptly, including signatures and reports.
- Educate customers and caregivers on proper use, care, and safety of the equipment.
- Perform minor fittings and adjustments to customize equipment for each user.
- Follow safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Participate in required in‑service training to stay updated on industry practices and product knowledge.
- High school diploma or GED, or one year of related experience.
- Minimum two years of mechanical experience; experience with medical equipment preferred.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools for equipment repair.
- Basic computer skills (Word processing, email, internet).
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making ability.
- Valid state driver’s license with satisfactory driving record; field travel may be required.
- Previous experience with wheelchair repair or medical equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs, pulling/pushing equipment over 100 lbs.
- Extended standing, bending, and kneeling.
- Fine manual dexterity for equipment manipulation and repairs.
- Ability to work in inclement weather during field operations.
- Willingness to work overtime as required by business needs.
