The Airframe Technician, with limited supervision, assists with testing, adjusting, and repairing airframe systems and components on all models of Learjet business jets. Performs maintenance in a safe and clean work environment according to manufacturer's specifications, Duncan Aviation approved procedures, and customer specifications. In addition, prepares and completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner.

Essential Job Functions/Expectations
  • With proper training and limited supervision, perform high quality inspections, servicing, and maintenance on a variety of airframes.
  • Use hand tools in a timely, clean, safe and professional manner with no rework.
  • Accurately order general aircraft parts as needed.
  • Perform minor troubleshooting, function testing, and repair of aircraft systems and components.
  • Prepare various documents for record keeping purposes (turnovers, removal sheets, personal training log, etc.) as required by company policy and FAA regulations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency of the Duncan Aviation work order system by completing accurate and timely discrepancies and corrective action statements, Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives (AD) Compliance statements, final inspection and closing of squawks and work orders.
  • Consistently locate and use appropriate technical data and follow verbal instructions when accomplishing assigned maintenance tasks.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
  • Licenses/Certificates:
    Airframe Certificate required;
    Powerplant Certificate preferred; valid driver's license and acceptable driving record;
    Man Lift qualified; tool inventory per department tool list required.
  • Attendance:
    Regularly scheduled attendance required.
  • Physical:
    Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.; reads small print; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates products, materials and fumes associated with aircraft maintenance; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet; tolerates walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting.
  • Environmental:
    Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and in noisy environments.
  • Work Schedule:

    Must be available for all shifts.
Education and Experience Qualifications Airframe Technician I
  • Entry level to two years Aircraft/Business Jet maintenance experience preferred.
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • FAA Airframe Maintenance Certificate required (or 1-3 months out from testing).
  • FAA Powerplant Certificate preferred.
Airframe Technician II
  • Two years relevant Aircraft/Business Jet maintenance experience required.
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • FAA Airframe Maintenance Certificate required.
  • FAA Powerplant Certificate preferred.
Airframe Technician III
  • More than four years relevant Aircraft/Business Jet maintenance experience required.
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • FAA Airframe Maintenance Certificate required.
  • FAA Powerplant Certificate preferred.
Airframe Lead/Master Technician
  • More than five years relevant Aircraft/Business Jet maintenance experience on multiple models, with experience overseeing large Learjet inspections or managing large repair projects.
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • FAA Airframe Maintenance Certificate required.
  • FAA Powerplant Certificate preferred.
