Role Description The Journeyman Ironworker is a full-time, on-site role based in Lincoln, NE. This position is responsible for installing, assembling, and securing structural steel, iron, and related components for industrial and commercial projects. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints, laying out materials, cutting and fitting metal, and using rigging equipment to move and position structural elements.
- Proficiency working with iron and structural steel, including cutting, fitting, and installation.
- Skill in welding processes appropriate for structural and industrial applications.
- Knowledge of rigging techniques and equipment for lifting, moving and securing materials safely.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and job specifications.
- Strong awareness of OSHA and site‑specific safety requirements; commitment to safe work habits.
- Physical capability to work at heights, lift and carry materials, and perform manual labor in varying conditions.
- Prior experience as a journeyman or equivalent level in ironwork or structural steel construction.
