Job Summary

Action is seeking an HVAC Journeyman to join our residential construction team. This role is responsible for installing complete HVAC systems in new residential construction, including heating, cooling, ventilation, ductwork, refrigeration components, and related equipment while ensuring quality workmanship and code‑compliant installations.

The HVAC Residential Construction Journeyman represents Action on jobsites every day. We are looking for someone who can work independently, read and understand plans and specifications, complete installations efficiently, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and take pride in doing the job right.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install complete HVAC systems in new residential construction, including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, air handlers, ductwork, ventilation systems, exhaust systems, thermostats, and related equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical plans, specifications, equipment schedules, and jobsite instructions.
  • Lay out and install ductwork, fittings, boots, registers, grilles, dampers, and other HVAC components.
  • Set and properly secure furnaces, condensers, heat pumps, air handlers, and other HVAC equipment.
  • Perform equipment start-ups, testing, and system checks to verify proper operation.
