Role Description

The Heating Air Conditioning Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Lincoln, NE, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems and related equipment across Duncan Aviation facilities. This position performs routine inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance, comfort, and safety for team members and visitors. The specialist completes preventive maintenance tasks, responds to service requests, and coordinates with facility and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and disruptions.

Day-to-day work includes reading and interpreting technical documents and schematics, identifying parts and materials needed for repairs, and maintaining accurate service records. The role also involves communicating clearly with internal customers, prioritizing work orders, and adhering to all safety, regulatory, and company standards.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Solid plumbing skills for supporting HVAC and facility systems, including piping, fittings, and related infrastructure.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities for diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control issues in HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Customer service skills to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and respond professionally to facility comfort and safety concerns.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs, including scheduled inspections, cleaning, and performance testing.
  • Working knowledge of relevant safety codes, regulations, and best practices for mechanical and building systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in HVAC or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., EPA refrigerant handling certification, HVAC licensure) are a plus.
  • Ability to work on-site in Lincoln, NE, including occasional overtime or off-hours support as facility needs require.
