Job Description

This position requires intensive case management for our highest risk youth. Duties include conducting screenings, risk assessments, investigations for the Court, and completing intakes at the request of law enforcement. Intensive case management involves facilitating groups, applying principles of brain development as a foundation for work with youth, providing skill training, and engaging families, schools, and service providers. Service matching that aligns with key life areas is essential, along with monitoring court conditions and performing transition planning for those placed out of home.

Non‑traditional hours and being on‑call are required to ensure improved behavior and community safety.

Location:

In‑Office only. 605 South 10 St Ste B300, Lincoln, NE 68508.

Travel will be required at times.

Work Schedule

Core hours Monday–Friday daytime. As part of a 24/7 commitment, occasional on‑call, evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required.

Salary and Compensation
  • Starting salary: $60,313.77 annually (Hiring Rate).
  • Immediate growth:
    Earn a 2.5% pay increase after successfully completing probation (if starting at Hiring Rate).
  • Starting rate flexibility:
    Higher starting pay may be considered based on education and experience, subject to final management approval.
  • Future increases:
    Annual cost‑of‑living adjustments (applied on July
    1) are subject to State Legislature approval.
Job Duties
  • Investigate, monitor, and supervise targeted high‑risk individuals on probation, post‑release supervision, or involved in Problem‑Solving Court.
  • Provide counseling, case management, reporting, and related functions while managing a caseload under close supervision.
  • Develop a supervisory approach with referral sources such as probation officers, navigation officers, court teams, jail staff, and prison caseworkers.
  • Participate in treatment processes and maintain regular communication with treatment providers, including attendance at treatment groups and facilities. Assist in developing relapse prevention plans.
  • Facilitate groups, including supervision, cognitive, skill‑building, and life‑skills enhancement sessions.
  • Prepare violation and compliance reports; perform record checks; enter and update client information in systems; determine reports to send to court for updates.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in social services, criminal justice, or a directly related field.
  • Two years of experience in case management in related fields.

Note:

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential duties will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with youth or families—through tutoring, coaching, mentoring, volunteering, or similar roles—is preferred. Experience with probation, DHHS, NDCS, or related systems, and skills in interviewing, investigation, or case management, are also desirable.
