Responsibilities- Connect youth with co-occurring mental health, substance use, and developmental needs to appropriate behavioral health and community services.
- Develop and strengthen partnerships with schools, Children's Division, Juvenile and Family Courts, hospitals, law enforcement, behavioral health providers, and other community agencies.
- Coordinate services across systems of care to improve access to treatment and long-term outcomes for youth and families.
- Support diversion efforts by helping youth remain in family- and community-based settings whenever appropriate.
- Maintain an active caseload through community-based and office-based services, including home visits and other non-traditional service locations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to coordinate care and promote engagement in services.
- Respond to youth experiencing increased behavioral health symptoms and provide education on symptom management and available resources.
- Coordinate with Access Crisis Intervention (ACI), Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT), and law enforcement to assess needs and connect youth to appropriate services.
- Facilitate evening recovery groups through Lee's Summit Youth Court as needed.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Bachelor's degree in a social science-related field required.
- Must meet Missouri Department of Mental Health criteria for a Community Support Specialist.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with youth experiencing mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and/or developmental disabilities.
- Valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and reliable personal vehicle required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening hours as needed.
- Knowledge of behavioral health systems, community resources, and recovery-oriented services.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Experience collaborating with schools, courts, child welfare, healthcare providers, or other youth-serving organizations preferred.
- Help youth and families access the support they need before crises escalates.
- Build meaningful partnerships that strengthen behavioral health services across the community.
- Join a mission-driven organization with more than 50 years of serving individuals and families.
- Work alongside dedicated professionals committed to compassion, collaboration, and recovery.
