Software Developer - Packaged Systems

Job Description Continuous learners wanted:
Learn application development using modern tools and working with a great team! Ameritas is seeking a Packaged Systems developer to support Individual business line efforts. Learn and understand packaged software. Work within a vendor toolset using the given framework to build something functional and useful. Create APIs to facilitate communication among various software solutions.

This position is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining application software in accordance with the needs of the business. The individual will routinely work with others within their work area to develop and unit test software programs of low to moderate complexity under close supervision.

Success in this role will require strong written/verbal communication skills. Focus on details and use organizational skills to execute work with a high degree of accountability. Use analytical skills to solve problems.

This is a hybrid role working partially in-office (Lincoln, NE or Cincinnati, OH) and partially from home.

• Design / Develop solutions utilizing custom packaged insurance software
• Work with automation tools while working with a range of developers and technologies
• Work with a cross section of IT resources to enhance existing, or develop new Java applications
• Work with SQL or other data query languages

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience required.
• Understanding of coding and basic principles of application development required.
• Ability to read and write SQL required.
• Self-starting approach to assignments and responsibilities desired.

The pay range posted reflects a nationwide minimum to maximum covering all potential locations where the position may be filled. The final determination on pay for any position will be based on multiple factors including role, career level, work location, skill set, and candidate level of experience to ensure pay equity within the organization. This position will be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits package.

This position will be eligible to participate in our Short‑Term Incentive Plan with the annual target defined by the plan.

Pay Range: $66,820.00 - $ / year
