Haymarket Park is home to the University of Nebraska baseball/softball programs, and Lincoln Saltdogs Independent Minor League baseball team. Playing surfaces are sand based, Kentucky bluegrass, with a state of the art Sub Air system. Fully renovated fall 2022.
Haymarket Park is seeking interns for the 2026 season. Interns will assist the Athletic Turf Manager in the daily maintenance of Hawks Field, Bowlin Staduim, and surrounding landscape. Special events include Banana ball and 2026 American association all star game!
Duties include, but not limited to:- Mowing
- Edging
- Aerifying
- Granular fertilizer applications
- Pesticide applications
- Maintenance of clay surfaces
- Maintenance of warning track
- Irrigation maintenance and repair
- Enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a 2 or 4 year turf program
- Able to operate necessary turf equipment
- Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Learn and assist with the maintenance of the entire facility in accordance with set standards
- $800/week.
- Internship may begin as early as February and can run through October.
- It is preferred, but NOT REQUIRED, that applicants be available for the entire internship period.
