Overview
We are a growing construction trucking company operating lowboys, side dumps, and dump trucks. We work with local contractors and job sites and are looking for a reliable dispatcher to help keep trucks moving, locate loads, and assist with getting billing prepared accurately and on time.
Position SummaryThe Truck Dispatcher will be responsible for dispatching lowboys, side dumps, and dump trucks, coordinating schedules with drivers and customers, securing loads, and assisting with billing paperwork and invoice prep. This role is key to keeping daily operations smooth and profitable.
Key Responsibilities- Dispatch and schedule lowboy, side dump, and dump truck operations daily
- Communicate with drivers regarding:
- start times, job locations, job changes
- load details and special requirements
- tracking progress throughout the day
- Coordinate with customers/contractors to confirm:
- delivery/pickup times
- jobsite requirements
- equipment needs and updates
- Find and book loads when needed (backhauls, local loads, new customers)
- Track load information and job details for accurate billing
- Assist with billing preparation including:
- collecting time sheets, tickets, PODs, scale tickets
- verifying job numbers, rates, hours, and quantities
- organizing paperwork for invoices to customers
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch, loads, and driver schedules
- Resolve day-to-day issues quickly (delays, jobsite changes, equipment issues)
Dispatching experience preferred (construction trucking a big plus)
- Knowledge of:
- lowboy hauling (equipment moves)
- side dump hauling (dirt/aggregate/asphalt/etc.)
- dump truck hauling (construction materials, jobsite hauling, etc.)
- Strong communication skills with drivers and customers
- Comfortable using phone, email, and dispatch software/spreadsheets
- Detail-oriented (especially with tickets and billing paperwork)
- Able to work under pressure and handle multiple trucks/jobs daily
- Reliable, organized, and professional
- Load boards / freight matching experience
- Familiarity with:
- jobsite logistics
- construction trucking rates
- DOT/driver hours basics
