Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Overtime: Possible during harvest season (must be open to OT)
Job Summary
The Logistics Administrator (Lead) supports efficient and cost-effective truck transportation of materials and products for the Ag and Energy platforms. This role plays a key part in carrier selection, freight pricing, and transportation execution, while providing market-based insights to internal stakeholders.
The position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to work independently under general supervision, and experience collaborating with internal teams and third-party truck carriers to meet customer and plant shipping requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Support enterprise transportation carrier management strategy, including rate negotiations, capacity management, and shipment execution
Negotiate carrier rates and maximize load pairing (backhauls) across product lines
Manage carrier relationships and overall transportation spend
Analyze transportation operations to identify process and cost improvement opportunities
Independently resolve issues under general supervision
Monitor carrier performance and KPI trends, taking corrective action as needed
Provide accurate, market-based freight pricing to stakeholders
Build understanding of freight markets and communicate insights internally
Improve organizational awareness of customer- and plant-specific shipping requirements
Communicate shipping requirements effectively to third-party carriers
Perform additional duties as assigned
Systems & Data Responsibilities
Update and maintain TMS (Master Mind) with contracts, freight rates, and volume estimates
Maintain internal documents, spreadsheets, databases, and systems
Resolve truck freight invoice issues to ensure accurate and timely carrier payments
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience in transportation logistics, freight coordination, or carrier management
Strong negotiation and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and solve problems
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience monitoring KPIs and managing carrier performance
Proficiency with transportation systems, spreadsheets, and logistics data
Preferred Skills
Experience in agriculture, energy, or industrial supply chains
Familiarity with freight markets and truckload transportation
Experience with backhaul optimization and cost-reduction initiatives
