Davies is now hiring an Associate School Business Administrator.
Qualifications- Must be eligible or working toward obtaining a Rhode Island School Business Administrator certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of school budgeting, purchasing and procurement, salary and benefits costing, and preparation of varied financial reports.
- Support the School Business Administrator with budget preparation for state, local, categorical, capital, and grants funding sources.
- Prepare and provide financial data summaries in support of budget status updates and projections (quarterly, annually, intermittent) as required.
- Assist the School Business Administrator in supporting and supervising the business office.
- Process purchase requisitions required to generate purchase orders.
- Determine the expenditure coding for financial transactions to ensure accurate capture of expenditures by funding source, line item and department.
- Prepare adjusting journal entries necessary for accurate general ledger recording of all financial transactions.
- Assist with federal entitlement grants application processes and provide support for grant financial reporting (Title I, Title II, IDEA, Title IV, Perkins, categorical and other grants).
- Oversee and provide support for payroll preparation for bi‑weekly wages, stipends, clubs, extra‑curricular activities and other wage types.
- Assist in preparation of Uniform Chart of Accounts (UCOA) reporting file.
- Prepare federal reimbursement claims for the student meals programs under the national school breakfast, lunch and CACFP meal program regulations.
- Assist in administering the Student Activities Fund, ensuring all deposits and expenditures are properly recorded and monthly bank reconciliations are performed.
- Prepare annual applications necessary for maintenance and renewal of the school’s insurance policy coverages, including obtaining a Student Accident Insurance carrier.
- Assist with records retention processes in accordance with State of Rhode Island records retention policies.
- Fulfill all other related duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, the Internet, Google Docs and Gmail.
- Proficiency in, or ability to become proficient in, Accelegrants, ERP/Workday, BFM budget management system, and other state‑implemented systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to support, lead and guide staff members.
- Embrace and demonstrate collaboration and teamwork.
- Meet deadlines involving multiple concurrent tasks within time constraints.
- Possess the ability and desire to be directly involved in a varied, wide range of duties involved in main office/central office operations.
