Job DescriptionDavies Career and Technical High School in Lincoln, Rhode Island is a state school that prepares students with a technical skill set and training they can carry to future careers. By providing hands-on training and career preparation, we not only help our students discover new passions, we help ensure each Davies graduate has the academic background and technical skills needed for future success. Davies is now hiring a Long-term Health Career Instructor Sub for School Year !
This position will go from August 2026- 11/1/2026. These are anticipated dates, which are subject to change.
Qualifications:
- RI Teacher Certification:
Health Occupations or certificate eligible - Registered Nurse experience required
- Teaching experience preferred
- Master's degree preferred
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an effective Health Careers program, including theory and labs that facilitate meaningful learning in the core competencies of the curriculum
- Maintain student record, including grades, attendance, and performance measures that assess and improve student learning
- Foster a safe and productive learning environment
- Facilitate program advisory board meetings
- Support student career readiness and Work-Based Learning experiences
- Maintain knowledge of best practices in and current industry standards
Skills & Understanding
Required:
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Know and understand industry recognized credentials and industry standards
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, sit, and talk or hear. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision and distance vision. Daily use of small and large motor skills applicable to the operation of industrial machines and equipment. Regularly interacts with students, the public, and with other workers.
Daily computer use. Regularly and essential to this position, the individual must meet deadlines with severe time constraints.
- Ability to pass a National Background check and meet Federal I-9 regulations
- At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
