ABOUT DAVIES … William M. Davies, Jr. Career and Technical High School, located in Lincoln Rhode Island, is a local education agency (LEA) serving approximately 875 students. Students are predominantly from Central Falls, Lincoln, North Providence, Pawtucket, Providence and Smithfield, though students throughout the state of RI may apply to attend. Davies is a state-funded high school governed by an independent, business-led Board of Trustees.

Students must take entrance examinations and apply for admission to Davies. Davies, a 4-year high school, offers both academic and career-focused programs, plus SkillsUSA membership and competitions, a comprehensive athletics program, and many other activities for students.

After a ninth grade exploratory experience, students may choose programs in 9 different career-related areas. Current industry and academic standards guide decisions on curriculum and equipment. Technical programs:
Automotive Careers, Biotechnology, Business Technology, Electrical/Renewable Energy, Pre-engineering, Graphic Design/Interactive Media, Health Careers, Hospitality, Machine Technology. Industry recognized certifications measure students' proficiency in technical areas. Davies offers a standards-based, fully accredited 4-year academic program leading to a high school diploma, as well as comprehensive support services for identified students. Work based learning is an essential component of Davies comprehensive educational program.

Davies graduates have many choices: go straight into well-paying jobs related to their career/technical area, attend 2- or 4-year college, work while attending college, or continue their technical training in the military.
