Overview

Lutron is seeking a Process Engineer to join our manufacturing team at the Tanury Lincoln, RI facility. In this role, you will help advance manufacturing excellence by improving production and supply chain processes through hands‑on engagement, strong process discipline, and data‑driven problem solving. You will partner closely with Production, Quality, and Operations teams on the manufacturing floor to identify improvement opportunities and implement practical solutions that enhance quality, efficiency, and process stability.

You will interact with facility leadership to scope and prioritize process improvement projects, collect and analyze process and quality data, and translate findings into clear, actionable insights that support daily operational decisions. You will develop and optimize processes, establish effective process controls, lead root‑cause analysis and corrective actions using structured, data‑driven methodologies, and serve as a trusted technical partner across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement processes for new and existing products, ensuring compliance with technical and quality specifications.
  • Establish process controls to ensure adequate capability.
  • Monitor and optimize process performance with controls and metrics.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and identify root causes using data‑driven methodologies such as DOE, SPC, or Six Sigma tools.
  • Lead and collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as Quality and Production to resolve nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, control plans, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Support cost reduction and yield improvement initiatives while maintaining product integrity and reliability.
  • Create SOPs and train production operators and technicians on process standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing process engineering, or 2+ years of relevant experience with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, with experience using Power BI or other data analysis and visualization tools.
