Schedule

Monday - Friday: 11:00 p.m.

- 6:00 a.m.
Friday - Saturday: 11:00 p.m.

- 8:30 a.m.

Position Summary

Machine Operator will be responsible for operating various machines within the production process. They will set up, operate, process, and monitor production. The operator will also inspect parts to specifications and perform tool changes as necessary to maintain quality. They must resolve minor component and quality issues, maintain expected production results, and keep production rate as stated on the work order.

Core

Functions
  • Operate machines to ensure continuous production at a constant rate of the correct product at high quality levels.
  • Perform in‑process inspections to ensure parts meet visual acceptance standards.
  • Produce parts in the proper quantity as identified by the production schedule.
  • Perform necessary pre‑operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup.
  • Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and in a timely fashion.
  • Execute operational procedures to ensure the quality of the packaged product.
  • Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service.
  • Recognize defective materials for color, surface blemishes, finish, and dimensions.
  • Identify the proper tooling required for pending production.
  • Inspect the condition of molds and component parts for damage and wear.
  • Inspect machine, conveyor, and tools in the department and notify Lead when a maintenance repair form is needed or replacement tools are required.
  • Keep work cell, department, and fire doors clear of trash and obstructions that could hinder performance or safety.
  • Maintain work area to meet 5‑S standards.
  • Communicate with team members and support teams.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and support Leads, Supervisors, and Manager.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist whenever and in whatever capacity needed to ensure continuous production.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Prior experience operating manufacturing, packaging, and process control equipment is recommended.

Physical Requirements
  • Subject to Medium Work:
    Exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Physical Activities
  • Climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, crawling, and repetitive motions.
Visual Acuity
  • Close visual acuity required for activities such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, expansive reading, visual inspection of small defects and parts, using measurement devices, and operating machines.
Working Conditions
  • Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards from a production‑based environment.
