These teams support manufacturing, R&D, quality, and product development across North America.
We are hiring Materials Engineers at multiple Prysmian locations. These roles are ideal for engineers who enjoy hands‑on lab work, analytical problem‑solving, and cross‑functional collaboration. Whether you're analyzing polymers, improving formulations, supporting plant trials, or troubleshooting material‑related issues, you'll be part of a team that directly impacts product performance, reliability, and innovation.
Role Responsibilities

* Support manufacturing and R&D teams by analyzing raw materials, compounds, and finished products to resolve technical issues.
* Develop and refine test methods, SOPs, and material evaluation procedures.
* Interpret data, prepare technical reports, and communicate findings to engineering, quality, and operations teams.
* Participate in plant trials, troubleshoot material‑related problems, and recommend improvements to formulations or processes.
* Maintain lab equipment, ensure data integrity, and uphold safety and quality standards.
* Collaborate with internal customers across multiple plants and business units to support ongoing projects and long‑term development initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or Materials/Polymer Engineering.
* Hands‑on experience with material or polymer testing and characterization.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a lab and plant environment.
* Clear communication skills for reporting results and partnering with cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
* 2+ years of industrial experience in materials, polymers, or related fields.
* Experience with cable, wire, plastics, extrusion, or compounding environments.
* Familiarity with advanced analytical tools (FT‑IR, DSC, TGA, SEM, DMA, XRF).
* Background supporting manufacturing troubleshooting or process improvement.
* Experience developing or updating test methods, SOPs, or material specifications.
