Greystone of Lincoln, a leader in the precision metal components industry, is seeking a seasoned CNC/Single Spindle Lead Machinist for 1st shift. In this role, you will not only set up CNCs to manufacture precision parts but also provide daily work instructions to a team of 5-8 machine operators. You will be responsible for overseeing shift safety, quality, and training, troubleshooting machine issues, and completing production documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and provide work instructions to 5-8 CNC Operators.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all CNC single spindle machines to perform precision machining operations.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances according to specifications and adjust machines accordingly.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process for maximum efficiency.
  • Complete all inspection and production paperwork.
  • Detect and troubleshoot malfunctions using precision measuring instruments.
  • Schedule overtime and vacation coverage.
  • Communicate with the supervisor to resolve machining or quality issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery per guidelines.
  • Oversee safety, quality, and training for shift.
  • Train employees as necessary.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Trade School is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in setup and operation of CNC machinery.
  • Lead/supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Strong math skills and experience with measuring tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Good communication skills, fine motor dexterity, and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to perform general physical activities such as walking, lifting, and handling materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
