Monday - Friday 2:30 p.m.
- 11:00 p.m.
Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various machines within the production process. They are required to perform various tasks to set up, operate, process and monitor production. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and adjusting, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications. This includes the ability to resolve minor component and quality issues as required maintaining expected production results.
Core functions include:
- Operating machines to ensure continuous production at a constant rate of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials throughout the entire shift and performing basic adjustments to ensure safe and efficient production of products.
- Performing in-process inspections of parts throughout the manufacturing run and ensuring they meet visual standards of acceptance.
- Producing parts in the proper quantity as identified by the production schedule.
- Performing necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup.
- Adjusting machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and in a timely fashion.
- Performing operational procedures to ensure the quality of the product packaged.
- Following and committing to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements.
- Recognizing defective materials for color, surface blemishes, finish, and dimensions.
- Identifying the proper tooling required for pending production.
- Inspecting the condition of molds and component parts for damage and wear.
- Inspecting machine, conveyer and tools in department and notifying Lead that a maintenance repair form is needed, or replacement tools are required.
- Keeping work cell, department, and fire-doors clear of trash and other obstructions that could hinder department performance/safety.
- Maintaining condition of work area to meet 5-S standards.
- Communicating with team members and support teams.
- Maintaining professional attitude offering support to Leads, Supervisors and Manager.
- Demonstrating flexibility and willingness to assist whenever and in whatever capacity needed to ensure continuous production at a constant rate of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials throughout the entire shift.
Education and Experience
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required. Prior experience operating manufacturing, packaging, and process control equipment recommended.
