Quality Assurance and Food Safety Technician
Full-Time
Location:
Rhode Island Food Factory – 263 Jenckes Hill Rd, Lincoln, RI 02865 | Monday to Sunday: 3:00 pm or 2:00 am start
- The Quality Assurance and Food Safety Technician is responsible for ensuring food safety policies are adhered to and product quality standards are met in our Food Manufacturing Plant.
- Assist the front-line supervisory staff in ensuring adherence to GMP and HACCP program compliance.
- Ensure the manufacturing processes and facilities meet quality standards with emphasis on product safety, sanitation, environmental awareness, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure product quality through random on-floor quality checks and regular internal audits to meet FDA standards.
- Perform routine audits in the plant and warehouse to ensure company standards are met.
- Responsible for food safety and quality control training and scheduling.
- Manage HACCP records keeping, review, verification, and corrective actions. Update or assist in revisions of SOPs and specifications as required.
- Collect and send microbiological and chemical samples for lab testing and verify results comply with standards.
- Ensure supplier information is updated and received materials follow company QA standards. Ensure finished product specification, microbiological and chemical integrity.
- Perform factory audits (e.g., daily pre-operational checks, internal audits, etc.).
- Conduct in-depth investigations to resolve non-compliant products or practices in a timely fashion and apply findings to improve the process.
- Post-secondary education in Food Science, Chemistry, Public Health, or Biological Science.
- Knowledge of food safety standards.
- HACCP plant experience is an asset.
- Previous leadership experience, preferably in a food processing facility.
- Effective communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
- Must be computer literate.
- Bilingual – English/Spanish an asset.
- Full-Time starting immediately at $20.00/hour
