Azure Integration Engineer (Lead) - Contract
Overview
We are seeking a Lead Azure Integration Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity. This role will focus on designing and building scalable, event-driven integration solutions on Azure. The ideal candidate has deep experience with Azure Functions, distributed processing, and modern cloud architecture patterns.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop Azure Durable Functions using orchestrator and activity patterns
- Build scalable, cloud-native solutions using .NET 8 (Isolated Worker model)
- Convert legacy Power Shell scripts into stateless, production-grade Azure Functions
- Implement event-driven architectures using Azure Event Hubs and related services
- Develop and optimize data ingestion patterns, including watermark-based change detection and parallel processing
- Ensure system reliability through robust observability, including logging, monitoring, retry logic, and error handling (App Insights)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement integration strategies
- Provide technical leadership and best practices for Azure-based integrations
- Proven experience designing and implementing Azure-based integration solutions
- Strong hands-on expertise with Azure Durable Functions and .NET (C#)
- Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architecture
- Solid understanding of scalability, performance optimization, and cloud-native design patterns
- Experience with Azure Event Hubs or similar messaging/streaming platforms
- Strong knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Application Insights)
- Ability to work independently in a client-facing, fast-paced environment
