Amey is supporting the Justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), providing safe, clean and efficient prisons across England and Wales. We have 60 secure premises. This role will support those premises.

Role Overview – A General Building Engineer on-site at HMP Lincoln to carry out planned and reactive maintenance securely and efficiently.

Working Hours – 39 hours per week across 7 days with a weekend shift pattern. 1 in 3 weekends on rota and additional 15% of base salary.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring availability of critical parts for statutory tasks and managing remedial tasks in the CAFM system.
  • Performing general and semi-skilled maintenance activities, including security systems like CCTV and alarms.
  • Conducting monthly checks and tests of fire extinguisher equipment, fire hydrants, and hoses.
  • Completing quarterly RCD testing and inspecting misting units.
  • Maintaining fire doors and performing flushing and tap temperature tests as per water risk assessments.
  • Undertaking monthly and annual emergency lighting checks.
  • Checking and testing smoke vents as required.
  • Carrying out any other duties as required.
What You Will Bring
  • Experience in multiple areas of maintenance such as Fire, Door, Extinguisher and Alarm core points.
  • Experience in Emergency Lighting, RCD, Water Temperature Testing.
  • IT skills.
  • Prison Security Clearance (Amey will support the clearance process).
