12-hour day shifts, 6:00am – 6:00pm

We are currently seeking an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to join our team and support operations within the waste management sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Plant Fitter with strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic experience to work in a busy waste processing environment. You will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a wide range of mobile and static plant machinery to ensure maximum equipment reliability and site performance.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance on a variety of plant equipment, including loaders, compactors, conveyors, shredders, balers, and picking lines.

* Diagnose and repair faults within hydraulic systems to minimise equipment downtime.

* Maintain, install, and troubleshoot electrical looms, wiring, and connections across plant machinery.

* Complete mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault finding and diagnostics.

* Carry out repairs and servicing efficiently and safely.

* Maintain accurate maintenance records and report equipment performance, faults, and recurring issues.

* Work closely with operations and engineering teams to support site efficiency.

* Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.

* Report hazards, defects, or incidents promptly.

* Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and operational performance.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Mobile Plant Fitter who can work confidently in a busy operational environment.

You will ideally have:

* Proven experience as a Mobile Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic, Maintenance Fitter, or similar role.

* Experience working within waste management, recycling, construction, heavy industry, or a similar environment.

* Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical wiring, looms, and mechanical components.

* Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

* Ability to respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns.

* Experience with waste processing machinery such as conveyors, shredders, balers, compactors, or loaders would be highly desirable.

* NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or an equivalent qualification is preferred.

* Strong commitment to health and safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
