Description:

Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103 is seeking to fill a Leave of Absence position for a 3rd grade teaching position through the end of the  school year.

Job Summary

The teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated instruction that is aligned to the curriculum and learning standards. The teacher is focused on providing a supportive and positive climate in which students can develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge. The teacher establishes a culture for learning within the classroom, ensuring that students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The teacher maintains regular communication with the parent(s)/guardian(s) with regard to the instructional program and student progress.

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction that meets the academic and developmental needs of elementary students.
  • Use student data and assessment results to monitor progress, differentiate instruction, and adjust teaching practices.
  • Implement evidence-based literacy instruction aligned with the Science of Reading.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students.
  • Provide appropriate supports and scaffolds for English Language Learners and students with diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with grade-level teams, specialists, families, and other school staff to support student success.
  • Integrate technology purposefully to enhance teaching, learning, communication, and student engagement.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Google Workspace and the ability to learn and effectively use new educational technology tools.
  • Maintain accurate student records and communicate student progress effectively with families and colleagues.
  • Participate actively in professional learning and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Other Duties
  • Attends staff development programs, curriculum development meetings, and other professional activities.
  • Keeps abreast of developments and research in the field of education.
  • Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Principal or other appropriate administrator.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an appropriate Elementary Education endorsement.
  • Meets all applicable Illinois State Board of Education licensure and qualification requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based literacy practices, including the Science of Reading.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Responsibility

Responsibilities include:

working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods.

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous elementary classroom teaching experience.
  • Experience working with the grade level or age group for which the position is posted.
  • Experience using student data to inform instruction and intervention.
  • Experience implementing evidence-based literacy practices.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a professional learning community or grade-level team.
