About the RoleI am a woman with profound intellectual and physical disabilities who lives in a specially adapted bungalow. I am supported on a one-to-one basis by a regular team of support workers. My communication is mostly by facial expressions and body language, though I have a few words I use effectively. I require full personal care including continence support and have epilepsy.
I am a wheelchair user and have a wheelchair-accessible car which my support workers drive to take me to interesting places. I enjoy going out and would like a lively, energetic, creative and compassionate person to bring a sense of energy into my life. Companionship is a key element to this role.
You will be a support worker (must be over 25 and car drivers) to join my team. No previous experience is required; a genuine caring nature, good sense of humour, patience and enthusiasm are the most important qualities.
I require support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Full training in all aspects of care and support will be provided. We are seeking a reliable female Personal Assistant to support with all needs. Female candidates only, due to the nature of the role (Exemption claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule
9).
You will need to be flexible and able to cover a range of shifts, including daytime, evenings, sleep-in nights, and some weekend work. Shift times are: 8am to 3pm, 3pm to 10pm, 10pm to 8am (sleep-in nights).
You will be required to get to know me through meetings, shadowing, and a bespoke training programme. You will receive all mandatory training annually.
BenefitsIn return for your dedication, you’ll receive a competitive rate of pay in addition to:
- 5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro-rata for part-time positions).
- Company pension scheme after 3 months’ service, subject to the scheme rules.
- Opportunity to join our Cash Back Health Plan after successful probation.
- Free training and development for all roles.
- Access to wellbeing and support tools.
- ‘Star of the Month’ rewards
- And so much more!
