Position: Data Platform Engineer (Oracle EBS Application DBA)

What We're Looking For

The Data Platform Engineer [Oracle EBS Application DBA] supports the technical vision and development of platform components for our next-generation bureau platform. The role requires deep expertise in managing Oracle 19c Database and Oracle EBS 12.2.x environments on Linux, including Web Logic. Key responsibilities include working with OCI, middleware, IaC (Terraform), and Oracle Fusion or EPM. The Engineer plans, builds, and manages our database environments, directly enhancing our data platforms.

Location:

3 days per week in the 3OP Lincolnshire, IL office or Holtsville, NY office, with 2 days remote (U.S.).

  • Plan computerized databases, including base definition, structure, documentation, long‑range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection.
  • Ensure data accuracy and completeness in master files, support tools, and base dictionaries.
  • Establish and maintain security and integrity controls.
  • Formulate and monitor policies, procedures, and standards for database management.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to improve performance and reliability.
  • Provide preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and resolve routine problems to ensure database infrastructure and platform stability.
  • Manage and maintain E‑Business Suite 12.2.x, Web Logic, and Oracle Database 19c.
  • Thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving, growing, and dynamic work environment.
  • Participate in the support of hosted data platform and related services.
  • Engage in architecture discussions, influence product roadmap, and take ownership of new projects.
  • Maintain and support existing platforms and evolve to newer technology stacks and architecture.
  • Perform system administration activities including patching, cloning, backup, and recovery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within EBS and integrated applications.
  • Deploy, upgrade, relocate, and decommission database servers both on‑prem and in the cloud.
  • Provide advanced technical support for Oracle EBS and database issues.
  • Participate in new projects—defining database strategy, architecture, standards, and procedures to uphold data integrity and security.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience.
  • Comprehensive experience with core physical DBA responsibilities for Oracle 19c or newer RAC on Linux/Unix.
  • Expertise in Oracle EBS R12.2.x administration, including upgrades, migrations, and application support.
  • Proficient with the full lifecycle of Oracle Web Logic Server.
  • Strong experience in Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
  • Experience building custom tools to automate or monitor large‑scale distributed systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and prioritize tasks to meet team goals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Applications such as Fusion, EPM, or OTM.
  • Experience with the broader Oracle Middleware technology stack.
  • Hands‑on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services and architecture.
  • Professional Oracle Certifications (OCP, OCA, OCI Architect, Web Logic Server Administrator).
  • Solid understanding of modern, cloud‑based data platform technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Pay Range

$ – $ Annual.

Incentive Compensation

In addition to base pay, the role offers a target performance‑based annual cash incentive equal to 12% of base pay, subject to plan terms.
