Technical Sales & Product Development Engineer

HTI is seeking an experienced Technical Sales & Product Development Engineer to join the R&D team of a global manufacturing client. This role will focus on technical product development, commercialization, customer engagement, and process improvement initiatives within an advanced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, operations, and product development teams to bring innovative solutions to market while supporting customer relationships and business growth.

This position is Direct Hire with a salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 depending on experience.

What You Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related technical field
• Experience in manufacturing, process engineering, product development, R&D, commercialization, or technical customer support
• Background in textiles, polymers, packaging, nonwovens, consumer products, specialty materials, or related manufacturing environments preferred
• Experience supporting cross-functional teams in engineering, operations, quality, and commercial environments
• Strong technical problem-solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement skills
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, or process optimization preferred
• Strong technical communication and customer relationship skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to travel as needed for customer engagement and market development

What Your Role Will Look Like:
The Technical Sales Engineer will support product commercialization, technical customer engagement, and development initiatives while partnering closely with R&D, manufacturing, and commercial teams to bring innovative products and solutions to market.

• Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams on new product development and product improvement initiatives
• Support commercialization efforts from product development through production launch
• Partner with customers to understand technical requirements and recommend product solutions
• Assist with technical presentations, product demonstrations, and customer discussions
• Support process improvement and manufacturing optimization initiatives
• Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot technical product or process issues
• Participate in testing, validation, and continuous improvement activities
• Identify market opportunities and contribute to product development strategies
• Maintain and expand relationships with existing customers while supporting new business development
• Participate in customer visits, trials, trade shows, and technical discussions
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, product development, and commercial teams
• Additional duties as needed and assigned
