Hengst of North America is seeking a hands-on and technically driven Product Engineer to join our growing Hydraulics team in Lincolnton, NC. This role is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working closely with customers and cross-functional teams, and contributing directly to innovative hydraulic filtration solutions. The Product Engineer will play a key role in supporting product development, troubleshooting, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering with both domestic and international teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and customer satisfaction.

We are looking for someone with strong engineering fundamentals, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for supporting operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Position Summary

Join Hengst of North America as a Product Engineer and help shape the future of hydraulic filtration technology. In this role, you'll support the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of innovative filtration products used in hydraulic systems across a wide range of industries. Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and global teams, you'll help bring new products to market, solve complex technical challenges, and ensure our products deliver exceptional quality, performance, and value for our customers.

What You'll Do

  • Support the design, development, validation, and lifecycle management of hydraulic filtration products.
  • Provide technical expertise on hydraulic applications, product selection, and troubleshooting.
  • Partner with cross-functional and international teams to launch new products and improve existing ones.
  • Lead engineering changes and continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, performance, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, specifications, and product records.
  • Analyze product performance, customer feedback, and market trends to drive product enhancements.
  • Support manufacturing and customers by resolving technical issues and optimizing product performance.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal teams and technical services personnel.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience supporting product development in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, filtration products, or related technologies is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, global environment.
  • Travel: Up to 25%, including occasional international travel.
