Position: Machine Operator: Belt & Pack Specialist III (PA4) PKG 1st shift

The Lincolnton, NC Conversion, Customizing and Packaging Center employs over 400 associates in a 5‑shift operation. The facility covers 235,000 sq ft and supports conversion, customizing, and packaging activities, including abrasives for our power tool accessories. Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Work in a team environment to aid the production process by managing various stations of the Belt & Pack machine (Cut to Length, Skiving Unit, Belt Packaging).
  • Set up and adjust machine aggregates for each product (skiving depth, grinding depth, glue application, tape placement, packaging aesthetics).
  • Ensure belt joint quality based on defined standards and conversion sheet specifications.
  • Provide hourly reporting of machine outputs and downtimes, and suggest process improvements.
  • Complete set up of Belt & Pack Packaging and Belt‑Joining Lines, following BPS/6S/Value Stream/CIP continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Multi‑task between pre‑ and post‑processing stages and make adjustments to meet quality expectations.
  • Maintain knowledge of all machines in the conversion area and complete required training (PQ&T).
  • Maintain BPS and 6S standards and operate under the daily goal standards.
  • Load and unload machines, change slitter blades and sleeves, and operate pin lift and pallet lift.
  • Operate and start machines, troubleshoot issues, and perform minor repairs according to the escalation plan.
  • Follow standard operating procedures, safety procedures, cleanliness, and tool organization guidelines.
  • Assist colleagues as required and maintain a positive work environment.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited school.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions.
  • Physical ability to stand 8 hours a day and lift up to 40 lb. boxes.
  • General math skills and multitasking ability.
  • Experience in machine operations is preferred.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing tasks.
