Join our team and Be You Be Aptar. Aptar is seeking a Mold Technician based in Lincolnton, NC. Looking for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude to learn skills as a mold technician. The right candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, organization skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication. This person will work independently, as well as in a team environment, doing all aspects of injection mold preventative maintenance and troubleshooting/problem solving.
No prior experience required. We’ll train the right person.
- Full disassembly and reassembly of molds
- Cleaning of mold components (hand and tank processes)
- Cleaning and changing of ultrasonic wash unit and coolant tanks
- In‑Press mold preventative maintenance
- Perform mold component conversions in multi‑cavity tooling
- Housekeeping and 5S activity
- Hydraulic cylinder maintenance and repair
- Repair of molds for increased cavitation
- Problem solving. Root cause analysis of issues
- Use of mold books, torque charts and SOPs
- Strong mechanical ability, organizational skills and communication
- Use of hand and pneumatic tools
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work well within a team environment as well as self‑directed
- Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs
- Prior experience in a tooling or manufacturing atmosphere is a bonus
- Blueprint knowledge
- Basic knowledge of toolroom machines and equipment
- Basic electrical troubleshooting (for hot runners and controllers)
