Location: Atrium Health – Region 3
Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift (1900–0700)
Schedule: 36 hours/week
Weekend Rotation: Every Other Weekend

Job Summary

The RN Clinical Nurse – Labor & Delivery/Postpartum provides comprehensive patient-centered nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans. This role ensures safe and effective patient care while maintaining professional nursing standards and adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.

The nurse collaborates with physicians, anesthesia teams, and multidisciplinary healthcare staff to support mothers and newborns through labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and neonatal care.

Unit Overview
  • Beds:
    • 10 LDRP rooms
    • 2 OB rooms
    • 2 Triage rooms
  • Average Census: 7 patients/day

Floating Requirements

Travelers may float within Region 3 facilities within their scope of practice, including:

  • Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, LCH)

If floating between facilities during a shift, travel time is paid and nurses remain on the clock.

Scheduling Details
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (1900–0700)
  • Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
  • On Call: None
  • Holiday Requirement: Travelers work 75% of holidays
  • Schedule Cycle: Every 6 weeks
Time Off
  • Up to 6 days of RTO approved (excluding holidays).
  • If contracted hours cannot be met, time may be added to the contract end date.
