Job Summary

RN – Labor & Delivery/Postpartum (Night Shift).

Location:

Lincolnton, NC – Lincolnton North Hospital.

Compensation: $2,182 per week (includes weekly stipend and base pay).

Contract:

13 weeks, starting 7/13/2026.

Shift & Schedule

Night shift, 12 hours per day, 3 days per week (1900–0700). No on‑call or back‑call requirements. 75% of holidays will fall on the shift.

Unit & Facility

Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit with 10 LDRP beds, 2 OB beds, and 2 triage beds. Average census: 7 patients per day.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage labor and delivery patients, including labor management and circulating cesarean sections.
  • Pre‑operative care, post‑anesthesia care, triage, and newborn resuscitation.
  • Administer Pitocin and epidural medications.
  • Assist with newborn baths and monitor newborns.
  • Coordinate with pharmacists (Med dispensing: Omnicell) and IV pump (Alaris).
  • Support and collaborate with scrub technicians, charge nurses, OB physicians, anesthesia/CRNA team, and telemetry monitoring.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery/Postpartum (LDRP).
  • Licensure:
    Current RN license.

    Certifications:

    BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM.
  • Willingness to work in a LDRP setting and accept a first‑time traveler.
  • Familiarity with AWHONN staffing guidelines for patient ratios (1:2 inactive labor, 1:1 active labor, 1:3‑4 couplets).
  • Ability to float within Region 3 (Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, Central Division) as needed.
Additional Details
  • Scrub technicians set up delivery trays, assist with sections, and clean the OR.
  • Charge nurse present on unit; receptionist/HUC not available.
  • Telemetry monitoring procedures for recovery when not under general anesthesia.
  • Equipment:
    Epic EMR, BV scanners, fetal monitoring, HUGGS system.
