Education and Experience

Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must have completed an applicable state Board of Nursing‑approved Nurse Aide II course or be listed as a nurse aide II student.

Licensure, Certification, and Registration

Must hold an applicable state Board of Nursing listing as a Nurse Aide II. Must be registered as a Nurse Aide I with the applicable state Department of Health and Human Services. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.

Essential Functions
  • Complete clerical duties for patient admissions and assemble medical records.
  • Ensure confidential, accurate, and timely communication of patient information.
  • Screen incoming calls and transmit messages as required.
  • Communicate with the team, co‑workers, patients, and families in an effective, positive, and professional manner.
  • Create a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and co‑workers by following established procedures.
  • Work in an organized, quiet, efficient manner and manage stressful situations.
  • Perform NA1+4 skills within the guidelines of the facility's NA‑1 Enhancer Program.
  • Assist patients with personal hygiene, comfort, and activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Complete assigned unit responsibilities and assist other staff members when time permits.
  • Provide age‑and‑development‑appropriate care following specific care guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated with a professional appearance.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Effective in managing frequent workload changes and competing demands.
  • Knowledgeable in caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Work Environment

This role involves frequent contact with patients, families, visitors, and medical staff under a variety of circumstances. Must tolerate moderate to high levels of stress and interruptions. Must work in a clean, well‑lit, comfortable climate and handle possible exposure to blood‑borne diseases and infectious or contagious illnesses.

Physical Requirements

Will perform standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching with arms, finger and hand dexterity, talking, hearing, and seeing. Must lift up to 20 lbs., 50 lbs., or 100 lbs. as required by job duties.
