Respiratory Nurse (Registered Nurse) – Skilled Nursing Facilities
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse to join our clinical team. This position will involve traveling to multiple skilled nursing facilities to perform respiratory treatments, assist with respiratory care planning, and support our residents in achieving their highest level of respiratory health and comfort. The ideal candidate is a licensed RN with experience in skilled nursing facilities, strong clinical judgment, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Respiratory Treatments :
Administer respiratory therapies and treatments to residents as ordered by physicians and in accordance with facility protocols. - Clinical Communication :
Contact physicians and other healthcare providers to obtain, clarify, or update respiratory-related orders as needed. - Documentation and Orders :
Accurately enter all physician orders and treatment documentation into Point Click Care (PCC) in real time. - Resident Assessment :
Identify residents who may benefit from Inspiratory Spirometer Program (ISP) therapy, working collaboratively with facility nursing and rehabilitation teams to establish appropriate care plans. - Care Plan Management :
Update and maintain resident care plans to reflect ISP treatments and ensure all changes are documented accurately. - Team Coordination :
Communicate and coordinate with the interdisciplinary clinical team to ensure all team members are aware of residents receiving ISP treatments and their progress. - Travel Between Facilities :
Travel to assigned skilled nursing facilities to deliver services and ensure continuity of care. - Compliance and Quality :
Ensure all respiratory care is delivered in compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations and policies.
- Licensure :
Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. - Experience :
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care setting. - Technical Skills :
Proficiency in Point Click Care (PCC) electronic medical record system (required). Ability to input, review, and update physician orders accurately. - Certifications :
Current CPR / BLS certification required. - Communication Skills :
Strong verbal and written communication abilities; comfortable speaking directly with physicians and interdisciplinary team members. - Travel :
Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel between assigned facilities.
- Prior experience providing respiratory or pulmonary care in a post-acute or SNF environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently across multiple locations.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
Schedule:
Flexible scheduling; travel required between designated facilities.
