As an Operations Supervisor supporting the Wastewater Treatment team, you will play a critical role in keeping operations safe, reliable, and efficient. - Lead and coordinate a team of shift operators to deliver safe, efficient, and high‑quality production across multiple shifts.
- Guide your team in executing daily operational plans, monitoring performance indicators, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Develop work schedules, allocate resources, and oversee equipment preparation for maintenance while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Mentor team members, support their development, and provide clear direction to achieve departmental goals within established procedures and budgets.
- Partner with other shift leads, engineering, and maintenance teams to optimize production and resolve operational challenges.
- Manage administrative duties such as payroll, incident reporting, and labor contract administration, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate expectations, deliver feedback, and coordinate planned activities to maintain product quality and drive results.
- Respond to emergencies, support a positive team environment, and contribute to the ongoing success of the organization.

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 or more years of operations experience in the Energy industry
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Work Identification Credential (TWIC) card
- Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following:
- Travel up to 5%
- Operate company a vehicle on site premises and/or public roads up to 25%
- Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and on‑call duties 24/7/365
- Transport articles up to 50 pounds
- Climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet
- Work safely near large, hot, high‑speed machines, around chemicals and hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat, and in harsh weather conditions.
- Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment.
- Maintain face daily for proper respirator/face mask seal. (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- 3 or more years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge of Wastewater Treatment
- 5 or more years of experience in the oil & gas industry, specifically refining
- 3 or more years of experience in coordinating or managing a major unit turnaround
- 10 or more years of refinery operations experience
- Knowledge of safe work practices
This position has a base salary range of $141,300 - $172,700.
The Bayway Refinery is located on the New York Harbor in Linden, New Jersey. Bayway's facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, solvent deasphalting, hydrodesulfurization and alkylation units. The complex also includes a polypropylene plant with the capacity to produce up to 775 million pounds per year. The refinery processes mainly light and medium, low-sulfur crude oil.
