Our client frequently partners with external agencies to supplement staffing needs for large-scale, time-bound projects.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Piping & Mechanical Quality Inspector to provide field oversight and verification of piping and mechanical construction activities. This role ensures all work is executed in accordance with design specifications, approved procedures, and contractual quality standards. The Inspector plays a critical role in supporting system integrity, safety, and readiness for commissioning through thorough inspections, testing oversight, and documentation review.
Job Description
- Confirm field construction contractors' adherence with approved welding procedures
- Review results and reports for NDE including radiographic, phased array, shear wave, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant and PMI
- Witness testing of piping systems
- Review system turnover packages for accuracy and completeness
- Participate in system walkdowns
- Confirm system restoration post testing
- Strong understanding of piping and mechanical construction practices and quality standards
- Knowledge of welding procedures and inspection requirements
- Familiarity with non-destructive examination (NDE) methods including radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, phased array, shear wave, and PMI
- Ability to review and interpret technical reports, drawings, and specifications
- Attention to detail in verifying documentation accuracy and completeness
- Ability to monitor contractor compliance and identify quality issues in the field
- Strong observational and verification skills during inspections, testing, and walkdowns
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with contractors and project teams
- High School Degree or GED
- Pay Rate: $52-68/hr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
