Clean Harbors Linden, NJ is an environmentally friendly solvent recycler and is looking to add several Solvent Process Operators to their team. The team members will learn and perform tasks such as distillation, filtration, and blending within units at the facility. The ability to obtain a boiler license (if available) is a plus; knowledge about distillations following SOP and compliance with emissions and safety is required.
ShiftAlternating (2 weeks on Days, 2 weeks on Nights / 3/2 split schedule 6am-6pm & 6pm-6am)
ScheduleMon - Friday (Some Saturdays depending on workflow)
Pay$24 per hour with $1.75 shift differential added while on night shift

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Offloads inbound tankers and performs distillation instructed by the laboratory.
- Sampling of trucks to laboratory.
- Complete daily checklist as required for proper operation of the Distillation units.
- Assure unit has daily maintenance duties performed and communicate any problems or issues with the Distillation units immediately upon discovery.
- Assure Distillation units are never operated in an unsafe manner or in a manner which is not consistent with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure that the processing unit is operating according to the issued guidelines and process specifications.
- Decants material pumping off excess sludge, also does a wash‑out of still between batches to prevent cross‑contamination.
- Review all applicable SOPs and score satisfactorily on quizzes.
- Complete and submit all associated paperwork as required for waste tracking movements, as well as scanning applications.
- Ensure that work meets all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure, understand, and have ownership of area‑specific permit required compliance standards.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Maintain accurate logs/run sheets.
- Monitor tank levels while in process using gauges and PLC monitoring equipment checking high‑level alarms and pumps.
- Understand Clean Compliance Standard.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- 1+ years of related experience.
- Forklift experience preferred (Not Required).
- Ability to use computer.
- Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
