Field Quality Manager — Infrastructure Projects (On-Site)
Location: Linden
Employment Type: Full-time, On-site
An established infrastructure delivery organization is seeking an experienced Field Quality Manager to lead project quality oversight on complex construction and commissioning projects. This role is responsible for monitoring and auditing quality requirements, executing project quality plans, and partnering closely with project leadership and field teams to ensure compliance, performance, and continuous improvement.
If you bring deep experience in heavy mechanical/process piping, construction quality programs, and audit leadership — this is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-impact projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and review project quality planning requirements, standards, and checklists
- Create and maintain project-specific audit plans, schedules, and documentation
- Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with quality requirements
- Develop and implement project Quality Management Plans during planning phases
- Provide leadership and guidance in executing Quality Management System processes
- Lead quality training and awareness initiatives across project teams
- Conduct audits and inspections to verify alignment with contract and quality requirements
- Identify deviations, document issues, and drive corrective action plans
- Manage document control, ensuring drawings, records, and test documentation are current
- Oversee non-conformance processes, tracking resolution through completion
- Recommend process improvements and best practices based on audit findings
- Collaborate with operations, project controls, and client stakeholders on quality matters
- Perform detailed inspections across definable features of work and surveillance programs
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- OSHA 30-hour certification
- Professional auditing certifications (CIA, CQA, or similar) preferred
- Certifications related to inspection, testing, welding inspection, structural bolting, or commissioning
- Minimum 10+ years in design, surveillance monitoring, or project management
- Background in electrical/substation, mechanical, and piping construction
- Strong heavy mechanical process piping experience
- Experience with facility startup and operations
- Proven success developing and implementing quality programs
- Experience serving as Manager, Superintendent, Project Manager, or Quality Manager/Auditor
- Experience working across multiple states with knowledge of local codes and AHJ requirements
- Strong understanding of ASME codes
- Expertise in hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, and mechanical startup processes
- Inspection and testing program implementation experience
- Knowledge of equipment/material specifications and manufacturer testing requirements
- Understanding of critical path scheduling
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong safety and environmental awareness
