Job Title: Facility Technician

Location: Linden, NJ

Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Position Overview

The Facility Technician is responsible for performing a range of interior facility maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, functional, and efficient working environment. This includes routine repairs, light electrical work (up to 240 volts), basic plumbing, and support for general upkeep across the facility. The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, and comfortable working independently while maintaining high safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections and general maintenance tasks throughout the facility.
  • Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical components such as outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures (up to 240 volts).
  • Replace and maintain overhead lighting, including high-bay warehouse lights.
  • Assist with minor plumbing tasks, including unclogging drains, replacing sink components, and general water line troubleshooting.
  • Use hand and power tools to repair or install doors, shelving, workstation components, and other facility-related items.
  • Support internal moves and setups, including furniture assembly and equipment relocation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety across maintenance work areas.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and urgent repair issues in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in facility maintenance, general trades, or building repairs.
  • Comfortable working with interior electrical wiring up to 240 volts.
  • Ability to use measuring tools and interpret basic technical instructions.
  • Skilled in identifying and safely using tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, and cordless power tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 49 lbs and work at heights up to 20 feet using ladders or lifts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Trade school certification or equivalent hands-on experience is a plus.
