Freight Forwarding Operations Agent
Regular Full‑Time | Linden, New Jersey | Salary: $30.00 – $35.00 Hourly
Operations Agent will work out of our Rock It Cargo, Linden, NJ office, assisting the Operations team with arranging domestic and international transportation by air and ocean for live performance touring projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Execute international air, ocean, and domestic shipments, including time‑critical and project‑based moves.
- Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth shipment flow.
- Create and maintain accurate operational files in accordance with company standards.
- Ensure data accuracy for costing, billing, and operational reporting.
- Update systems with real‑time shipment information.
- Adhere to Rock‑It Cargo Quality standards and best practices.
- Respond to customer inquiries related to shipment status and documentation.
- Maintain a service‑oriented, solutions‑focused mindset.
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies and share improvement ideas with leadership.
- Participate in training and system enhancements.
- Other duties related to client projects, as assigned.
- 2‑3 years of Freight Forwarder experience; experience with live event import/export operations is a plus.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry or military experience.
- Basic freight forwarder knowledge; confidence with domestic and international air, ocean, freight, and trucking.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Excellent strategic mind – able to prioritize competing responsibilities, organize multiple complex projects, maintain sharp attention to detail, and handle time‑sensitive issues under pressure.
- Comfort with basic Excel functions, and ability to learn new software quickly.
