Position: Manager, Electrical & Electronics (Night Shift) - Grade 12 - $80,579.20 ~ $112,798.40 ~ $156,291.20

The hours for this position will be 8:00 pm to 4:00 am.

Basic Purpose of Position

The Manager, Electrical & Electronics directs the implementation of Electrical/Electronic maintenance programs for PATCO rolling stock and the shop equipment necessary to maintain them. Responsible for planning the day‑to‑day maintenance, back shop and capital activities. Determines the maintenance and repair priorities and coordinates the work of the team.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Sets shop priorities, oversees scheduling of all maintenance activities and coordinates inspections/repairs of shop mechanical support equipment.
  • Verifies accurate data is contained within the car status report and all carryover reports.
  • Completes daily, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Ensures adequate material is on‑hand for completion of scheduled maintenance, truck building and processes electrical material through the repair loop.
  • Manages the traction motor overhaul program.
  • Special projects assigned by Director to address equipment performance/reliability, deficiencies, and absolute component issues.
  • Measures the improved performance and identification of economical substitute components.
  • Recommends and writes/revises SOP's.
  • Measures and verifies the consistent performance and quality of work performed on the shop floor.
  • Develops testing/interviewing materials for new employee candidates. Also develops technical training programs for new/existing employees.
  • Responsible for training all new and existing electrical employees.
  • Assist Director in planning annual capital/operating budget.
  • Documents performance issues, resolves differences among employees, counsels employees, and hears and responds to grievances at step "B" level.
  • Able to react to change in a positive manner and to handle other tasks as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
