Manufacturing Coordinator
The Manufacturing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of manufacturing operations by managing production schedules, coordinating logistics, and supporting procurement activities. This position serves as a key liaison between Planning, Purchasing, and Manufacturing, ensuring accurate project Bill of Materials (BOMs) are properly fulfilled.
The Manufacturing Coordinator will work closely with the Planning Department, which is responsible for organizing project BOMs and feeding all required items to the Purchasing Team for procurement. Additionally, this role will collaborate with the Manufacturing Manager to align production schedules with material availability, ensuring efficiency in the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities- Production Scheduling:
- Coordinate with the Planning Department and Manufacturing Manager to develop and manage production schedules.
- Ensure production timelines align with material procurement and project deadlines.
- BOM and Material Coordination:
- Review and validate BOMs provided by the Planning Department to ensure all required components are accounted for.
- Work with the Purchasing Team to track procurement progress and resolve any material shortages or delays. Communicate delays with the Manufacturing Manager.
- Logistics Coordination:
- Oversee the timely delivery of materials and components to the manufacturing floor.
- Communicate any scheduling adjustments to all relevant teams to minimize disruptions.
- Coordinate customer deliveries with the Warehouse to ensure all parts get delivered to the correct locations.
- Cross-Department
Collaboration:- Act as the key communication link between Planning, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to facilitate efficient workflows.
- Provide updates on production progress and proactively address potential bottlenecks.
- Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement:
- Identify production inefficiencies and implement corrective actions in coordination with other departments.
- Support process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce lead times.
- Steel Inventory:
- Identify what steel we need to keep on hand.
- Keep an accurate count of steel and make sure it is accurate in Netsuite.
- Time Entry:
- Help ensure individuals are clocked in on correct job numbers.
- Enter clocked in time on work orders.
- This job operates in a professional office environment with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasionally required to lift or move objects up to 15 pounds.
- Occasional travel may be required for training, conferences, or company meetings.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
