This position offers Archival experience and is an opportunity for anyone interested in a career in the cultural heritage sector or whose research may require familiarity with archival concepts.
The City of Kawartha Lakes is hiring summer students, and we're looking for innovative and passionate individuals interested in a four-month position from May to August. Our Summer Student Program introduces students to the public sector through challenging experiences, while providing meaningful opportunities to contribute to the community.

To be considered for a Student position with the City of Kawartha Lakes, you must be:
- Minimum of age 16
- Registered as a full time student during the preceding academic year, 2025 to 2026
- Registered as a full time student with the intent to return to school on a full time basis during the next academic year, 2026 to 2027
- The organization and retention of records and will involve purging old records and organizing box contents
- Assisting with archival maintenance duties
- Assists Archives staff with other archival and records management projects
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently with little supervision
- Academic and/or professional experience handling sensitive personal information and completing quality assurance checks and audits
- An interest in technology, document management systems, municipal government, and/or archives would be an asset
