Technical Writer
Team Carney, a dynamic training and learning performance development government contractor, is seeking a high-performing Editor/Writer to support a client program. The experienced candidate must have a client and solution focused mindset, and be able to work effectively in a team environment. This position has a 1 day a week onsite requirement in Linthicum, MD.
This position requires an active Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities- Assist with writing and editing talking points, FAQs, presentations, features, articles, and news releases
- Review, write and edit brochures, and provide communication updates for internal and external audiences
- Ensure compliance with the agency Communication Plan and other industry-standard editing guidance
- Ensure consistency of grammar mechanics and expression, formatting, logical organization and development, and general readability
- Review, edit and format agency content and materials for grammar, spelling, sentence structure and punctuation and ensure the information is complete, concise and logically organized
- Write, review and edit communications for the agency website, news articles, social network materials and other communications
- Update and maintain agency publications and guides, and ensure documents are in alignment with the standards in these guides
- Current Personnel (Security) Clearance/ Eligibility (PCL) at the Secret level.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience writing or editing DOD security training materials
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in writing, editing and reviewing a wide range of courseware, documents, and publications
- Four (4) or more years of experience writing or editing DOD security training materials
- Four (4) or more years of experience in writing, editing and reviewing a wide range of courseware, documents, and publications
- Successful completion of the DHS’s Authoring Accessible Documents Program available through the DHS OAST
Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, contract‑specific affordability, organizational requirements, and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and is based on full‑time status. Part‑time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours.
The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represent the broadest range for this position (including high geographic and high clearance requirements) and is just one component of Team Carney's total compensation package for employees. Team Carney is committed to delivering exceptional results and fostering an inclusive environment where every member can thrive. Salary range for this position: $65,000 - $80,000 annually.
