Civil or Environmental Student Intern

Overview

Department: Civil/Municipal

Location: Linthicum Heights, MD

• Work in collaboration with the design team to assist in the preparation of technical reports, analysis/calculations, and construction documents.
• Assist with the preparation of permit applications and submittal packages to agencies having jurisdiction.
• Coordinate with permitting agencies, utility providers, contractors, and other parties associated with the project.
• Periodic travel to perform site investigations and construction observation.
• Review specifications and shop drawings, conduct field observations, prepare inspection reports, and perform other construction administration tasks.
• Research, interpret and implement relevant codes and client requirements.
• Implement and utilize CPH and client standards and templates.

Education and Experience:

• B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering and/or working towards obtaining a B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• Ability to exercise critical thinking and good independent judgement.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
• Good social, communication, written, and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively multitask and work on multiple projects while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
• Detail-oriented, quality-conscious, reliable, and self-motivated.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the US.
