Job Overview
Leidos is looking for a Sr. Systems Engineer to support a complex, mission‑critical Information Assurance Program near Ft. Meade, MD. The successful candidate will develop and evaluate system engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, security requirements, and security testing documents. They will provide technical support for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex hardware/software systems, handle requirements elicitation, analysis, and functional allocation, conduct systems requirements reviews, and perform technical or non‑technical assessments.
They will support the planning and test analysis for the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process and other related government certification processes.
- Perform cybersecurity high‑assurance evaluation activities, including reviewing security evaluation documents and other high‑assurance artifacts/documents for devices undergoing certification and assessment to ensure they meet security requirements.
- Attend and participate in relevant security‑related meetings and reviews and translate vulnerability knowledge into guidance that prevents or manages risk.
- Document security deficiencies found in the evaluation of artifacts and documents, and recommend clarification and process/template improvement to mitigate security concerns.
- 20+ years of System Engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university; five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Information Assurance/Cryptographic experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and lead small teams.
- Active TS/SCI with Poly Clearance required.
- Experience in space, weapon, ground, or terminal system development and/or evaluation.
- Experience with DoD Certification/Accreditation Processes, including other Government Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes.
- Experience in Space System Engineering.
