Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Level 2 or Level 3 to join our team in Linthicum, MD. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
This Manufacturing Engineer – Level 2 or Level 3 will work with the Microelectronics Manufacturing Process. This individual will work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, IPT Lead, Quality Engineer, Test Engineering, and Operations to ensure producibility meets the program targets, including Yield, and continuous improvement opportunities. This individual will support the Ultima program at the Focal Plane Lab.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
In This Job, You Will- Process Development
- Developing/revising process documentation and work instructions
- Developing new and maintaining, or improving, existing manufacturing processes with a focus on production capabilities and affordability
- Establish and monitor SPC for the manufacturing process
- Lead RCCA (Root Corrective Cause Action) and have strong Troubleshooting skills
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Test, and Production and Program Management team to ensure manufacturing documentation support efficient execution, troubleshooting, and schedule recovery activities
- Providing ROI justification for process improvements
- Specifying, identifying and procuring new manufacturing equipment for production readiness and preparing equipment for production
- Factory Support
- Monitoring process yields and cost, recommending and implementing quality improvements to drive improved metrics.
- Solving of manufacturing problems (related to materials, designs, equipment and tooling, training and instructions) to support production.
- Assisting with the training of new personnel and participation in the design of operation training materials
- Supporting factory maintenance personnel with the troubleshooting and repair of process equipment
- Helping build team meet the requirements of JEDEC Standards, internal requirements, and other relevant IPC/MIL-STDs.
- This position can be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3.
