Data Center Tech - LEAD

Our client, a leading organization in network deployment and support services, is seeking a Data Center Engineer to join their team. As a Data Center Engineer, you will be part of the technical operations supporting network deployment and troubleshooting activities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Data Center Engineer

Location: Northern, VA

Pay Range: $33-37/hr depending on years of experience

What's the Job?

• Perform advanced provisioning, troubleshooting, and software upgrades on newly installed equipment.
• Run scripts to gather information for system assessment and remote correction.
• Collaborate closely with project management teams, providing technical advice as needed.
• Resolve complex technical issues and elevate when necessary to ensure system integrity.
• Manage deployment project documentation, including status reports and engineering updates.

What's Needed?

• Fundamental knowledge of Ciena products, especially Ciena 6500 and RLS product lines.
• Strong understanding of troubleshooting photonic layers, including EDFA and Raman amplification.
• Experience with network troubleshooting tools such as Site Manager, OTDR, and TDS scripts.
• Ability to perform advanced provisioning, troubleshooting, and network software upgrades independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer‑focused approach.
